Common questions

Is the app completely free?

Yes. There are no ads, in-app purchases, subscriptions, trials, or locked letters.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account or sign-in, and the app does not ask for a parent’s or child’s name.

Does the app save progress?

No. Children can return to the alphabet at any time and choose any letter. The app does not store scores, completion, or learning history.

How do I open the grown-ups area?

In the iPhone, iPad, and Android apps, press and hold Hold 2s to Learn More on the alphabet screen for about two seconds. That page contains only family information and external website links. In your browser, this space instead has an optional Leave a tip button for grown-ups. Every letter and activity stays free.

Why can’t I hear anything?

Check the device’s media volume and make sure audio is not being routed to headphones or another connected device. In a browser, also check whether the tab is muted and tap once to allow audio playback. All letter, sound, word, and guidance audio is included with the mobile app and saved for offline browser play.

Does it work offline?

Core alphabet play works offline on mobile. In a browser, open the web app online once and allow its first visit to finish saving all letters, pictures, and audio; then it can play offline. Opening website, support, privacy, or app-store links requires an internet connection.
