Delete Your Account & Data — Their First Words

App: Their First Words, by Their First Words LLC.

This page explains how to delete your Their First Words account and all data associated with it. You can do this yourself inside the app in a few seconds, or — if you can’t open the app — request deletion by email.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Their First Words.
  2. Go to Account → Delete account.
  3. A confirmation screen asks you to type DELETE and confirm with the Apple or Google account you sign in with.
  4. Confirm.

Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately and permanently. There is no soft-delete, grace period, or undo.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email (no app needed)

If you can’t access the app, email privacy@theirfirstwords.org from the email address on your account and ask us to delete your account. We will verify the request and delete your account and all associated data, and confirm by reply. We respond within 30 days (usually much sooner).

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes, from our systems:

  • Your account record and login (your Firebase Authentication record)
  • Every child profile under your account — first name, age range, character avatar, and language preference
  • All learning data — word and phrase progress, favorited word/phrase content IDs, completed Words/Phrases session events, and each library’s namespaced milestone events
  • Any per-user files stored for your account
  • Any feedback you sent us through the app
  • The link between your account and your purchase record on RevenueCat

We do not keep backups of deleted data beyond the standard transient cloud-platform replication window (typically a few days), after which the deletion is fully propagated.

What this does not do — your $9.99 purchase

Deleting your account does not refund or remove the $9.99 purchase. It is a one-time purchase billed by Apple or Google, not by us — there is no ongoing billing to stop and nothing to cancel. The purchase stays with your Apple ID or Google account; if you ever reinstall the app, Restore purchases brings it back. Refunds, if you want one, go through Apple or Google under their policies.
