Animal-habitat sorting printable

Five world mats and ten animal cards use the same world names and creature art as Their First Puzzles. Print both sheets, cut out the cards, and invite your child to match each animal to the world it visits in the app.

This matches the app’s imaginary worlds. It is not a wildlife field guide: real animal ranges and habitats are more complex.

Choose “print background graphics” if your printer offers it; the world names still work in black and white.

How to use it

Print the two sheets. An adult cuts along the dotted card outlines; keep the pieces together for younger children.
Start with two world mats and two or four cards. Ask, “Which world does this animal visit in the app?” Add the other worlds when your child wants more choices.
Let your child place, move, and regroup the cards. Name each animal together and describe what you notice in the picture.

Try without cutting: point to a card, then point to its world mat. You can also play without a printer by reading the animal names from this page.
